COUNTRY MUSIC:

The Great North Country Music Theatre presents Three Dollars More and Dave Wilson at Glaxo Sports and Social Club, in Barnard Castle, on Sunday, May 4, at 7pm. Entry is £4. No membership is required.

FIGHTING TALK:

Harry Moses, of Aycliffe Village, will give a talk entitled The Fighting Bradfords when he is guest speaker at Gainford Local History Group on Monday, May 19. The talk charts the lives of four brothers and is based on his book of the family. The meeting takes place at Gainford Village Hall and starts at 7.15pm.

CHRISTIAN AID:

Churches Together in Gainford will be making a house-to-house collection as part of this year’s Christian Aid Week, which runs from May 11 to May 18. Anyone who can help collect should contact Sue Taylor on 01325-720379.

CASH BOOST:

An Easter Eggstravaganza organised by the St Osmund’s Pre School, in Gainford, raised £500 for school funds.

CLASSIC CARS:

Plans are in place for this year’s Ingleton Village Fayre and Classic Car Show. It will take place on Saturday, June 14, starting at 10am. Other attractions include a dog show, morris dancing, a fancy dress parade and falconry display.
