MORE than 60 children attended an Easter sports camp.
Youngsters aged five to 14 attended the 15th annual camp organised by Durham Gilesgate Youth and Community Association, in Durham City.
The event featured gymnastics, dancing, trampolining, basketball, cricket, football, tennis, archery and other team games.
Children attended from 14 different schools.
Co-ordinator Ann Ferguson hailed the camp as a great success.
“Anyone involved in sport recognises the apathy of some young people towards physical activity but equally there are hundreds of children who with their support of their family will attend camps like ours, where not only are they being physically active, they are communicating with people from other schools who they have never met before and many of them become firm friends,” she added.
Summer sports camps will run in the first two weeks of the school summer holidays. The cost is £5 per child per day. For more information, call 0191-386-1933.
