A GREEN group is inviting people to listen to the dawn chorus.
Ouston and Urpeth Conservation Volunteers will stage a bird walk on Sunday May 11at 4.30am in Walter’s Wood, between Ouston and Urpeth, near Chester-le-Street.
The event is free and the meeting poiunt is the car park of the Cherry Tree pub at Urpeth Grange.
A group spokesman said: “Members of OUCV will help you to identify the various birds and their calls.
“The dawn chorus is a truly wonderful experience. This is your chance to enjoy it in your local area.
“Wear warm clothes and walking shoes and bring a torch.
Please consider the neighbours and arrive and leave quietly.”
