A WOMAN who lost her mother to cancer is planning a charity fundraising night in her memory.

Rachael Cooper, 38, is holding the Cancer Research fundraiser at Darlington RA, in Brinkburn Road, on May 25.

Entertainment will include karaoke, a disco, food and a raffle.

Ms Cooper wants to raise awareness and funds for the charity after she lost her mother, Wendy Elstob, to the disease, at the age of 43.

She was only 13 when she lost her mother to bowel cancer.

Ms Cooper and four close friends are also raising funds by taking part in a sponsored ten-mile walk which will begin from Darlington town centre on May 25.

She hopes to raise more than £1,000 from both the sponsored walk and the charity night.

The charity event will begin at 7pm. Prizes can we won and include goods from Terry Andrews butchers, Toni and Guy, Golightme candles, and H’s hair and beauty.

Tickets are £5 each and can be purchased by calling Ms Cooper on 07717-183680.
