STAFF, residents and families at a Newton Aycliffe care home are celebrating after it was named as one of the most recommended in the North-East.

Rose Lodge Care Home was rated the seventh out of 876 homes in the region by carehome.co.uk, an online directory and industry website.

The list was compiled using online recommendations from residents and their friends and relatives.

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We felt the best people to rate a care home were the people who really know its ins and outs, its residents and their families.

“Rose Lodge care home has proved that it provides a great service and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top recommended home in the North East.

“It’s a brilliant achievement to be recognised for your hard work but particularly from the people who you work hard for.”

Karen Frew-McGill, manager of Rose Lodge, said: “This is a wonderful recognition for Rose Lodge and all our residents and staff.

"This is a real reward for all the hard work and dedication carried out daily by all our staff.

“Rose Lodge would not be the home it is today without the joy and laughter our residents bring to our hearts every day.

“It is so important to us that our residents are happy here so we are delighted to have received so many recommendations from our residents and their families and friends.”
