A MAN has been honoured for his many years of tireless volunteering.
David Lindley was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship by the Rotary Club of Durham.
He has been involved with Durham Community Association, based at Shakespeare Hall, North Road, for more than 40 years and remains active, aged 77.
A Rotary spokesman said: “This award, which is normally given to Rotarians for outstanding work for Rotary, is also given rarely to individuals for their contribution to their local community.
“No fewer than 45 groups use the Shakespeare Hall and they all owe a great deal to David for the service he has given them.”
