LOVERS of classic and vintage vehicles are gearing up for a rally to raise funds for good causes.

A colourful array of cars and motorbikes will gather for the event in Darlington Market Place on Sunday, July 20.

The rally is being organised by Darlington Rotary Club and will take in a 60 miles course around villages in Darlington borough, ending back at the Market Place.

It will include visits to Croft, Hurworth, Neasham, Aycliffe, Great Stainton, Sadberge, Middleton One Row, Heighington, Walworth, Summerhouse, Ingleton, Aldborough St John, Caldwell, Winston, Staindrop, Melsonby, Barton and Stapleton.

Organiser and Rotarian Ged Wiper said: "Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and help us to raise as much as we can for local charities.

"Every year we support many local organisations and projects and hope this event will be fun as well as adding to our funds."

Participants are asked to contribute a £30 entry fee per vehicle and the cars and bikes must be in good working order to take part.

Those wishing to take part need to fill in an entry form – available on the club website, search online for Darlington Rotary Club.
