Help needed to give dales charity a hand to support elderly people
5:35pm Monday 9th June 2014 in News
A Dales charity which helps elderly and vulnerable people is appealing for volunteers to help them offer support and practical assistance.
Dales Care, which has a centre in Bedale works with dozens of elderly people every week, providing meals and companionship. But they say volunteer numbers have dropped over recent months and they desperately need more help..
Organiser Michelle Sands said “Dales Care has been running as a Charity for over 25 years and we have the support and generosity of the local community to thank for our success , however we now need people more than ever to help us, as the demand increases for our services.
“We are looking for people who can spare a few hours a month, we need help in the Kitchen with the preparation of food and clearing up, we also require help in the day centre providing companionship, teas and coffees, and also drivers who can deliver Meals on Wheels within the surrounding area.”
