TWO organisations are celebrating windfalls from Ferryhill Town Council.
The Mayor of Ferryhill, Coun Pauline Crathorne, presented Eric Schlosser, of Ferryhill Town Band, with a cheque for £1,000 and handed £340 to Stephen Kelly, Coun Peter Atkinson and Coun Brian Avery of Ferryhill Banner Committee.
The band will use its grant towards running costs and the banner committee’s donation will help pay for taking the Dean & Chapter and Mainsforth banners to Durham Miners' Gala on Saturday, July 12, accompanied by Ferryhill Town Band.
