High fashion for all in Newton Aycliffe
3:01pm Monday 16th June 2014 in News
A CATWALK show next week will prove high fashion is not just for the rich and famous.
Lifeline Community Action, a Christian charity that helps people in financial crisis in the Newton Aycliffe area, has organised the event, on Thursday, June 26, as part of its Helping Hands project.
Many of the models and VIP guests at the fashion show are people who have benefited from the charity’s help and, at the end of the night, they will be able to choose glamorous garments and shoes to take away.
Alwyn White, Helping Hands project leader, said: “The demand for our fashion shows is increasing, which is not surprising when the quality of the clothing is so good and the need out there is so great.
“The age range is from teens to pensioners and men and women are catered for. We honestly don’t want to be supermodels; we just want to be role models. Lots of our models said they never thought they would ever be able to do anything like this.”
Entry to the fashion show, at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre from 11am to 1.15pm, is free but by invitation only.
