DARLINGTON Comedy Festival gets into full swing tomorrow with the charity gala opening night - and The Northern Echo has two tickets to give away.

Show Me The Funny winner Patrick Monahan, from Middlesbrough, will be among the acts entertaining crowds at the Civic Theatre.

Darlington Association on Disability, St Teresa's Hospice and Butterwick Hospice are among the charities that will benefit from the proceeds of the show, which starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now from darlingtoncomedyfestival.co.uk, priced from £18 to £22.50.

The event's headline act, tipped to be a big name from the field of British comedy, will be announced on the nights, say festival organisers.

Previous headliners have included Tim Vine and Sarah Millican.

Other acts confirmed for the line-up include Seymour Mace, whose credits include BBC2's Hebburn and Ideal, and Rob Rouse, who has appeared on Eight out of Ten Cats and the Friday Night Project, both on Channel 4.
