DANCERS this week take to the stage to put on a show packed full of fun.

The Joanne Banks Dancers, based in Spennymoor, open their annual dance spectacular at Darlington Civic Theatre tonight (Thursday July 10) and repeat shows on Friday and Saturday night.

The 120 performers, aged four to 40 plus, will perform routines from a range of genres including tap, modern jazz, ballet, musical theatre and gymnastic dance.

Managing director Joanne Banks said: “The show is called Freedom to encapsulate the idea that when you dance there is a sense of freedom, to move around, to be who you want and do what you want.

“It is our 23rd production in 24 years and may be our best one yet, I think we have a great variety of music and dance styles, some of our best performers and they really give it rock all.

“There are great songs and routines, fantastic choreography and beautiful costumes.”

Tickets are £15 from Studio 10, Durham Street, Middlestone Moor, on 01388-420210 or from the theatre box office from 6.30pm before 7pm performances.
