DOG lovers and their canine companions can enjoy a day of fun this weekend.

Welfare charity Dogs Trust Darlington will take over the town’s South Park on Sunday (July 20) with its annual charity fun day.

The free event, which runs from noon to 4pm, will feature family and animal-friendly activities, including a fun dog show and games for pets of all shapes, sizes and abilities.

Attractions also include gift stalls, tombolas, a raffle and refreshments, as well as free microchipping for dogs.

Dogs Trust Darlington centre manager, Sue Embleton, said: “The fun day is a wonderful day out for all the family to enjoy.

“All funds raised on the day will go to the care and upkeep of the wonderful dogs at rehoming centre until we can find them their forever homes.

“For those who are on the lookout for a new family member, there isn’t a more perfect opportunity to find out more about the charity and the dogs that are looking for homes.

“We look forward to seeing many old friends and new – both human and canine - on Sunday.”
