FINAL preparations are under way for an outdoor evening of music designed to appeal to all tastes.

Music Through the Decades will be held at Hurworth Grange from 4pm on Saturday (July 19).

It will feature five live bands, playing everything from 1920s jazz to 1980s glam rock and everything in between.

Among the acts booked for the event are the Old Glory Jazz Ensemble, Hurworth Big Band, Vintage Belles, So-Shoddy-Waddy and Glamtastic.

Dancing displays will be provided by dance company All That Jazz.

An event spokesman said: "Some of the groups have performed to sell-out audiences over the last few months.

"So, if you haven’t had time or the opportunity to hear them, now is your chance.

"Set in the lovely grounds of the Hurworth Grange with the backdrop for the performers being the old house, come and enjoy the music in this outdoor setting.

"Enjoy a picnic and a glass or two of wine, or visit the Grange bar and the refreshment area.

“We’ve got the music, we’ve got the dancers, and we’ve got the setting. Let the party start.”

The event is sponsored by Hurworth Parish Council, Barclays Bank and Lloyds Bank.

Tickets cost £5 per person, with under 14s free.
