STAFF at a town centre store have launched a new charity partnership after raising more than £7,500 for another good cause.
Team members from Wilko, in East Street, raised £7,657 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service last year.
The store has now adopted Macmillan Cancer Support as its chosen charity.
Staff are planning a year of activity to raise funds.
Store manager Shaun Wallas said: "We had a wonderful year supporting Great North Air Ambulance and we hope the grand total raised by all the stores in the region made a real difference.
"As a community focused company, we’re always keen to help as many worthy causes in our local area as we can, and we chose Macmillan to be our new charity of the year as a team.
"We can’t wait to get going with our fundraising – there’s plenty of ideas in the pipeline and we hope our loyal customers in Darlington will support them and see us on our way to another amazing total over the next 12 months.”
