DETECTIVES have turned to the public for help after raiders targeted a property near Northallerton earlier this month.

A number of expensive items of jewellery and designer handbags were stolen in the break-in at a house at Kirby Sigston sometime between July 7 and 10.

The property was entered through a first floor bedroom window and the list of stolen items includes a Raymond Weil watch, a Prada handbag, a Mulberry handbag and purse, and a collection of gold and silver jewellery.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary to get in touch.

The public are also urged to contact the police or Crimestoppers if they have been offered any of the stolen items for sale.

Anyone who can help should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Detective Constable Debra Verrill or Northallerton CID.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to debra.verrill@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800-555-111.
