SEASIDE-THEMED entertainment was high on the agenda at a fun day in a Darlington shopping centre.
Dozens of families attended the event, at the Cornmill centre, on Thursday (August 14).
The main attraction was a Punch and Judge puppet show, while an artist drew caricatures of some of the children who attended.
There was also free candy as well, as face painting in between puppet shows.
About 30 children sat round in a circle to listen watch the 40-minute puppet show, which repeated four times during the day and featured special guest Joey the clown.
Parent Diane Gordon said: “It’s amazing, it’s like a day at the seaside but indoors. All the children are loving it."
Entertainer Brian Llewellyn led the Punch and Judy show, while his wife Marilyn took charge of face paintsing
Mr Llewellyn said: “I was here the day the Cornmill shopping centre opened and I’ve been back here every year. We’re very well known in the Darlington community."
Two years ago, Mr Llewellyn was recognised for his contribution to the arts by the Best of Darlington awards, as part of an effort to recognise the unsung heroes of Darlington.
He performs regularly in children’s entertainment.
