DAREDEVIL staff at a dehumidifier manufacturer may need their own creations on hand when they take part in a water fuelled obstacle course this week.
Ten brave workers from Ebac in Newton Aycliffe will compete alongside 1,000 other people in the10km River Rat Race in Stockton on Sunday, August 24.
The team is raising funds for the Olivia Mae Foundation, a charity that helps cover the costs faced by families who have to travel to hospital to visit their sick children.
It was set up by Pamela Petty, managing director of Ebac, and her husband, Richard, in memory of their daughter Olivia Mae, who died aged nine weeks at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
Joanne Vipond, team leader at the bottled water cooler and domestic dehumidifier manufacturer, said: “I decided that 2014 had to be the start of many challenges we would put ourselves through in order to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause, the Olivia Mae Foundation.
“I've been holding training sessions twice a week for the past ten weeks in an attempt to get everyone into shape.”
