TWO men have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the early hours of this (Tuesday, October 21) morning.

The men, aged 49 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH, and police have recovered a knife.

Officers were called to an address on Eden House Road, in Sunderland at around 1.20am after ambulance services reported a 33-year-old man was suffering from cuts to his arm.

The man, whose condition is not believed to be life-threatening, remains in Sunderland Royal Hospital.

Detective Sergeant Simon Auty, of Northumbria Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “I’d like to reassure residents that this appears to be an isolated incident.”

“Anyone with information on the incident should also come forward.”
