A CHEESE company has added to its range of speciality products – but with its original recipe at its heart.

The Wensleydale Creamery, based in Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales, has added a bit of festive cheer to its regular crumbly cheese.

Fans of the cheese who want something different for Christmas might enjoy its new mince pie variety – a blend of mixed fruit, biscuit crumble, cognac and spices within the Wensleydale.

A spokesman for the creamery said: “This Yuletide we really wanted to create something different for the Christmas cheese board.

“At The Wensleydale Creamery, we are experts in blended cheese having launched our best seller, Yorkshire Wensleydale and Cranberries, more than 20 years ago.

“Each Christmas, we produce a new limited edition for the festive celebrations and this year’s special, the Mince Pie Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese, is causing a bit of a stir with fans of the brand across the UK.

“The reaction to the blend has been incredible and the new Mince Pie Yorkshire Wensleydale is set to be centre stage on thousands of cheese boards over the festive period.”

The Wensleydale Creamery uses traditional methods to handicraft cheese to time-honoured recipes, using milk from local farms as well as being innovative with the development of new recipes.
