THERE was a far from frosty reception for three special guests who surprised children at a party to celebrate their achievements in a school project.
More than 200 youngsters were thrilled when Elsa, Anna and Olaf from the hit Disney film Frozen dropped in on their party at Spennymoor Town Hall, in Spennymoor, County Durham.
The event was held to reward youngsters for the work they produced for a literacy project ran by The Education Network, which recruits supply teachers and support staff for eight schools in the Spennymoor area.
Peter Barron, editor of The Northern Echo and author of the Monstrous Morals series of children’s books, has visited the schools to talk to pupils about his stories.
They then had to create their own characters and monstrous morals and three winners were meant to be picked to win a prize.
But organisers found the competition too tough to judge, so threw a huge Frozen-themed party for a class from each participating school and arranged for the Frozen trio to call in for a sing along and to meet children.
