Redcar Town

The Under-12s lost 3-1 to Nunthorpe in the first division of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance.

Town started brightly with some good link up play, but Nunthorpe also held the ball well and both teams produced some good attacking football.

Midway through the first half Nunthorpe produced the first real chance but straight away Town went up the other end and forced a stunning save from Nunthorpe's keeper to keep the game level. This stirred Nunthorpe into action and they responded by taking the lead through a good strike and straight after they doubled their lead with another clinical finish.

In the second half Town started brightly and Connelly reduced the deficit when they converted a slick move. Nunthorpe responded by going down the other end and scoring again. Redcar MoM was Clements.

Clendinning grabbed Middleton’s third with a well-struck shot from the left wing. Redcar got a second goal towards the end but Rangers held on. Marcus Brow was MoM.

The Under-12s thrashed Thirsk Falcons 5-0. They took the lead 15 minutes in when a lovely through ball by Alfie Madgwick saw Joel Towers nip in front of the keeper and score and a second came quickly when the Thirsk keeper parried a long shot into the path of Will Phillips to finish at the back post.

Liam Walton made it 3-0 when he finished off a lovely passing move into the bottom corner and he grabbed his second from a Thirsk mistake.

The Under-13s lost 3-2 to Thirsk Falcons. Rangers struck first when Louis O’Neill was superb in beating his marker to slot home. Thirsk struck back after being awarded a soft penalty, but Rangers were soon in front again when Louis was brought down in the box and put the penalty away in style.

Thirsk were then awarded another penalty and scored and they scored again to take the points. MoM went to Rangers’ Matty Phillips after a great performance in midfield.
