Redcar Town

The U14 Blues were beaten 3-2 at Poppleton in the County Cup semi-final. With the score level late in second half and the game heading for a penalty shoot-out, Poppleton scored a fantastic winning goal to put them into the final. A great game played in the right spirit by two good sides.

The U-13 Whites beat neighbours Redcar Athletic 3-1 to move top of the league.

The breakthrough came five minutes into the second half when neat play from the Whites’ midfield created a first chance for Jack Bowden, who made it 1-0.

Owen Clarkson scored a screamer from 30 yards out to make it 2-0 but Athletic made changes and started to create chances. Had it not been from a top draw save from Ben Hatfield Athletic would have been back in the game.

With ten minutes remaining Charlie Addison struck from 25 yards to make it 3-0. In the last couple of minutes Athletic scored a consolation. Special mention for Marshall Merry, who was outstanding in the heart of defence.

The U-12s came from a goal behind to win 4-1 at home to Leven.

Midway through the first half Leven's no 10 latched onto a through ball and slotted home, but just before half time Jones went on a mazy run beating three men before slotting home the equaliser.

After the break Johnson finished from close range then Bloom smashed a blockbuster into the top corner to put Town 3-1 up before Connelly scored on the counter-attack.

Bishop Auckland St Mary’s Angels

The U-18 girls beat Spraire Lasses 4-2 in an entertaining game. Spraire took the lead, but St Mary’s came back to win with goals from Maddie Atkinson (2), Natalie Waterworth and Frayah Munro. Player of the match was goalkeeper Lauryn Morgans, who went on to have England CYP trials along with Brodie Grayson.

Bishop Auckland St Mary’s Juniors

The U7s Aces and Kings were the stars of the weekend when they played each other in the semi-finals of the League Cup.

The Kings took the lead through Joel Butler, but in the second half the Aces equalised through Mason Wright. It looked as though the match would go to extra time but Jay Bulch sent a great lob over the Aces’ keeper to make it 2-1 to the Kings.

Adam Petty was MoM for the Aces and Tyler Richardson MoM for the Kings.

The Aces were presented with medals from the club for reaching the semi-final presented by club secretary Catherine Pearson and club welfare officer Gaven Berry.

The U7 Aces played the following morning against Stockton Blues and won with goals from Mason Wright, Jaden Bowes and Jamie Wright.

The U7 Kings had a great win over Barnard Castle with goals from Tyler Richardson, Jay Bulch, Joel Butler and Curtis Fortune MoM.

The U8s Aces played at Leven AFC and also had a great win with goals from Liam Cunningham, Jake Pinkney, Leon Parker and Charlie Berry with Finley Rose MoM.

The U8 Kings played Leven at home and had a very good win with goals from Cobie Woods and MoM James Whales. The friendly was a draw with George Anderson and Taylor Brownson starring.

The U9 Kings played a friendly against Norton & Stockton and had a good win with Scott Jones MoM.

The U10 Aces had a great win over Golden Flats with goals from Ethan Bowman (2) and Finley Stevens along with keeper James Petty making some great saves and Robbie Wilkinson MoM. George Tinkler was MoM in the friendly.

The U11 Aces had an excellent 4-1 win over Saxon Juniors with goals from Cameron Bass, Ryan Byrne and Robbie Vickers with Daniel Pattison MoM.

The U11 Kings came up against a good Marton side and had chances to take the lead but Marton took their chances to eventually win 4-1 with Sonny Richardson scoring and Piotr Banda MoM.

The U12s lost 4-1 against Wynyard with Regan Nixon scoring.

The U13 Aces beat Stockton Town 2-0 with a brace from Luke Penberthy.

The U13 Kings lost 3-1 at Spraire Lads with Andrew Burrows scoring and Lewis Poppleton MoM.

The U14s were very unlucky to lose 4-3 against Marton Blues with goals from Callum Thomson (2) and Lucas Hallimond.

Darlington 21st Allstars

The U-8s played at Greatham and came back with a 5-4 victory despite going behind.

Reuben Scoter drew the Allstars level and then played Ryan Wardell in to put them in front. Back came Greatham to make it 2-2 before James Wilson made it 3-2 at half time.

Reuben increased the lead but back came Greatham to make it 4-4. James fired the winner for a hard fought victory. Man of match went to Ryan Wardell. The second game resulted in a 3-0 victory for the Allstars with goals from Kenny Fluen, Ryan Wardell and Hari Bondarenko, with man of the match award going to Nathan Theakston.

The U-8 Colts drew 2-2 with Heighington. Allstars came back from a goal down to lead 2-1 with both goals coming from MoM Harley Coad.

In the second game Allstars won 3-1. MoM Cole Robson bagged a hat-trick. The Colts were also in action against Newton Aycliffe Falcons, who won 6-2.

Allstars goals came from Harley Coad and Jack Leafe, MoM Lucas Sidebottom.

Allstars lost the second game 6-0. Callum Hudspeth was MoM.

The U-9s had an excellent 0-0 draw at one of the best teams in the league in Newton Aycliffe Juniors.

Allstars lost the second game 5-1 after initially taking the lead through Danny Precious. Dylan Wallis was Man of the Match.

The U-10 Colts overcame a quality Trimdon United side in the semi- final of the Challenge Cup and now head to Rockcliffe in May to contest the final.

Josh Robertson scored two fantastic goals, but it was a real team performance with every player giving their all.

In the friendly Ethan Vallis scored from long range with Hameem Rehman also scoring a stunning strike and Samual Talman notched to record a convincing 3-0 win.

The U-12s A, sponsored by Darlington Motor Factors, drew 0-0 at home to Mount Pleasant with Nathan Scott in midfield and Charlie Lamb picking up the MoM awards.

The U-12s were also at home to Marton FC Royals and ran out 5-1 winners with two goals from Joe Lamb and a hat-trick from MoM Lewis Barclay.

Darlington RA Juniors

The Spitfires kept their promotion push on track with a 3-1 win at Great Ayton.

Despite the scoreline, the RA didn’t have the game all their own way and had to weather a tough spell where Great Ayton brought the score level.

Thanks to a hat-trick from Mitchell Wilson the Spitfires remain top of the division and ready for the final push toward promotion.

Mount Pleasant Rangers

The U7s, sponsored by RPMI, drew both their games at Newton Aycliffe Juniors.

In the first game that finished 1-1 Thomas Fenney scored with George Maddams awarded man of the match.

In the second game Charlie King scored all three goals in a 3-3 result with Kai Brock awarded man of the match.

The U14s, sponsored by Specsavers Darlington, drew 2-2 at Normanby United.

Rangers found themselves 2-0 up with goals from Jack Barker and Josh Walshaw, but Normanby kept battling until the end and were rewarded with two goals late in the game. Rangers’ man of the match went to Luke Upex.

The Under-10s lost 2-1 at home to Leven. Kyle Caton ran the game in midfield. Reece Johnson, Joe Whitehouse and man of the match Elliot Dummett were also excellent. Ricky Shergill got on the score sheet once again with a cool flick from a goal bound free-kick from Will Dore.

The friendly finished 2-2 with Rangers goals from Alex Wood and Bradley Cotton.

The U12s were held to a draw at Darlington 21st Allstars. Man of the match went to in-form Harry Stanford, who yet again displayed another superb performance at right-back.
