A playgroup is celebrating after scooping £7,000 to expand its services.
The East Thirsk Playgroup was awarded the money by the York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation.
At present, the playgroup only takes youngsters aged two and above, but it wants to take younger ones.
Nursery secretary Karen Hoyle said: "We are really pleased to have got the money.
"We will use it to follow Ofsted guidelines to improve the nursery so that we can take younger children on."
