COUNCILLORS have been assured that problem areas in Bedale are being addressed by police.
PC Peter Taylforth, who has assumed a problem-solving role at the local police station, told the latest town council meeting that he wanted to hear from the public about any anti-social conduct in the market town.
Among problems to be addressed are young drinkers meeting in the porch of St Gregory's Church, in North End.
PC Taylforth said police had looked at incidents involving young people in the grounds of Bedale High School, misbehaviour in the town centre and gatherings in the car park on the site of the former auction mart in Bridge Street.
* Sergeant Stewart Granger will soon take over from acting sergeant Carl Dale at Bedale police station.
