A REUNION for former members of staff at what was once one of Stanley's biggest employers will be held next month.
The JobCentre Plus office in Towneley House, Stanley, will close on March 12, and its remaining staff will transfer to posts in Sunderland. The office opened in 1972 and, at its height, about 140 staff were employed.
As the office closes for the final time, a reunion will be held for past workers in East Stanley Workingmen's Club, on Friday, March 2, from 7pm. For tickets, £2.50, call on 07740-932625 or 01207-291016.
