MOUNTAIN rescue volunteers were called to the rescue of a man found unconscious in North Yorkshire this morning.
The man was found on land near Potto, a spokesperson for Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team said.
An 18-strong team was called at about 9.15am by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance paramedics and a crew from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) also attended.
The casualty was assessed by the air ambulance medics and a decision was taken for him to be recovered to a waiting land ambulance.
A spokesperson for the mountain rescue team said: “Working together with their NYFRS colleagues the mountain rescue team lifted him onto a rescue stretcher for a short, but muddy and awkward, carry up some banking, followed by a further carry to the ambulance.
“He did not require evacuation by helicopter.”
