Seven County Durham drivers have been fined in court after admitting offences including no insurance, speeding and failing to give information to police about incidents.

All of the court cases took place at Peterlee Magistrates' Court this week.

The following cases were heard at Peterlee Magistrates' Court:

Aimee Wallace, 42, of  Hillside View in Roddymoor, admitted speeding on A689 Peases Way on August 26, 2023.

She was fined £220 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88 as well as costs of £90.

She also received 3 points on her licence.

Elizabeth Law, 64, of Chester Drive in Willington, Crook, Durham, admitted speeding on A689 Durham Road on August 26, 2023.

She was fined £220 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88.

She also ordered to pay costs of £90 and received three points on her licence.

Ian Allick, 55, of Bede Crescent in Newton Aycliffe, admitted to driving over the speed limit on the A1(M) J61 Bowburn to J60 Bradbury on June 26, 2023.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £90 and received three points on his licence.

Richard Mark Lee, 38, of Park Road in Stanley, admitted to driving over the speed limit on the A1(M) J61 Bowburn to J60 Bradbury on July 26, 2023.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £88.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £90 and received three points on his licence.

Gareth Christopher Ayers, 33, of Beckett Close, Etherley Dene, Bishop Auckland, pleaded guilty to speeding on the A1(M) J61 Bowburn to J60 Bradbury on August 24, 2023.

He was fined £216, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £86, ordered to pay costs of £90 and received three points on his licence.

Jordan Hamilton, 24, of Milburn Close, Easington, Peterlee, Durham, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle, a Ford Tipper Van, on a road, or other public place, namely Front Street, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance.

He was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £264, ordered to pay costs of £90 and received six points on his licence.

Samantha Georgia Barkel, 27, of Thornhill Road, Shotton Colliery, Durham, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle on a road, or other public place, namely the A19 Northbound, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance.

She was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £264, ordered to pay costs of £90 and received six points on her licence.
