A £10m vision has been set out for a recently acquired hotel - despite numerous public objections over the plans, including a name change for the venue.
Raven Hall Hotel in Ravenscar, near Robin Hood's Bay, was purchased by hotel company The Apartment Group earlier this year - with plans to convert the hotel into a wedding venue.
Despite it being a family-run business for the last 20 years, which has seen the venue become a popular site for people in North Yorkshire, proposals to convert parts of the venue have been put forward by The Apartment Group - which will include £10m worth of work.
Within the plans, a name change to Grand Villa Height has already been completed, leading to backlash from people who had previously stayed at Raven Hall Hotel.
Other proposals for the hotel include making it "one of the most spectacularly unique hotels in Europe," according to The Apartment Group.
Despite not putting forward specifics on how they will change the former Raven Hall Hotel, the hotel company has committed to working with the local community.
Issues surrounding the heritage, preserving the historical features and ensuring it is a community asset have been several of the concerns raised by members of the public since The Apartment Group took over.
The Apartment Group, who already run wedding businesses Runa Farm and Lartington Hall in County Durham, Newton Hall and Le Petit Chateau in Northumberland, and The Croft near Darlington, has now set out its vision for the future.
The Apartment Group said: "We’ve already met with the North York Moors National Park, as well as engaged the services of a local heritage consultant to ensure that all improvements are of the highest quality and sensitivity.

"As soon as our experts have drawn up the proposed ideas, we will be inviting the local community along to hear their views and suggestions.
"The local community is tremendously important to us, and we want to be an integral part of it.
"Apartment Group has always embraced the needs of the local community and championed local causes. Plenty of community groups use our venues free of charge and we always contribute to local charities and good causes."
It is understood that The Apartment Group took over the venue on April 3.
