FITNESS fans have set a challenge to raise funds to boost the Sport Relief bid by travelling 2,012 miles in 20 days.
The marathon event has been set by users of Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre which has just undergone a £600,000 face-lift.
To tie in with the build up to the 2012 Olympics in London they are to cover the mileage to help Sport Relief aid people in the UK and abroad.
The event started on March 2 and it runs through to Sunday, March 21, when the final mile will be reached.
Customers are to covered the distance using the equipment in the centre ranging from treadmill, bike, cross trainer and swimming pool.
All entrants will set their own mileage target towards the main total and they will raise sponsorship for the appeal.
Everyone entering and raising more than £10 for Sport Relief will be entered into a draw to win a free month’s Fastcard Freedom membership.
To take part contact the Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre on 01845-522447.
