Karate man's success

A HIGH flying martial arts instructor has become one of the most qualified in the region.

Adam Walker, chief instructor at Chikara Dojo Kyokushin Karate Club, in Spennymoor , passed his third dan grading.

The achievement earned him promotion from the rank of senpai to sensei.

Mr Walker trained most days for six months before a three day training and grading camp in Derbyshire where he was tested physically and mentally on his knowledge of kata- attack and defence technique patterns, stamina, instructing and full contact fighting.

He said: “Although physical preparation is extremely important, it takes special mental focus in order to survive.”

Oi oi Grasshopper
Do the Kyokushin authorities know about your conviction at Durham Crown Court and the fact that you're awaiting sentencing?
Now that you're a sensei does that mean you can chase after kids on foot rather than in your range rover?
Not that you could use your car following your driving ban.
