New outdoor fitness gym for Ferryhill exercise fans

FITNESS fans can train outdoors all year round as gym equipment is fitted in to a park thanks to a Big Lottery Fund donation.
Ferryhill Town Council has worked with the Friends of Surtees Doorstep Green to secure £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund for the project.
The money has been used to fit six different pieces of gym equipment including an exercise bike at the Surtees Doorstep Green, Ferryhill.
Councillor Christine Woods, town council portfolio holder for the Doorstep Green, said “It’s going to be fantastic and I hope it is well used.
“Ferryhill Town Council and the Friends of the Surtees Doorstep Green community group are thrilled that their ideas are being brought to fruition.
“The new equipment will be a welcome addition to the Doorstep Green which demonstrates just what can be achieved when the town council and local community work together.”
