Witness appeal after rush hour crash
4:21pm Friday 7th September 2012 in News
POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a car involved in a collision in rush hour traffic failed to stop.
The incident occurred when a silver Audi A3 collided with a red Citroen C1 at about 5.50pm on Wednesday on Carmel Road South, in Darlington, before leaving the scene.
The Audi, registration number ND08NHK, is believed to have contained two men, both about 40 to 45-years-old, who were later arrested nearby.
One of the men is described as heavy built, with a tanned complexion and dark short hair, wearing a blue t-shirt and grey shorts.
The other one was stocky and bald, wearing a purple t-shirt and dark tracksuit bottoms.
The female driver of the Citroen suffered minor injuries in the collision but her car was badly damaged.
Anyone who saw the collision or who saw the Audi A3 travelling in the area beforehand are asked to call Durham Police on the non-emergency 101 number and ask for PC Donna Guthrie at Darlington.
