Chance to share Darlington memories
4:29pm Friday 7th September 2012 in News
RESIDENTS are being encouraged to share their memories of Darlington as part of a project documenting the town’s past.
The project invites residents, both past and present, to record their memories which will then be put onto a CD and will be available to buy.
Darlington Remembers was the idea of former Croft resident, Vivian Reid, who now runs the audio production company, Croft Productions .
She specialises in recording and creating personal audio packages for people to keep as memories and keepsakes.
She said: “I started out just getting memories from Croft for a project, then I found a lot of people from Darlington were interested in getting involved too.
“It is nice to have a collection of memories, and with an audio piece anybody can listen to it and keep it forever. I’m looking for people with memories of Darlington, whether they still live there or not, to record a short piece about their favourite memories of the town and their favourite part of growing up in the area.”
Ms Reid will be visiting Darlington on Tuesday, October 2 to record people’s memories. If you have any memories you want to share, contact Ms Reid on 01425-688143 or 07587-200-300.
A Facebook page has also been set up for residents to share their memories and get involved. It can be found at facebook.com/DarlingtonRemembers
