Fawkes' birthplace to host fireworks festival

A CITY will be ablaze with fireworks and bonfires to celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605.

As the birthplace of Guy Fawkes, York will host the Kaboom Fireworks Festival, at Rawcliffe Country Park, on Sunday, November 4.

Fireworks and bonfire displays will also take place at Bustardthorpe, on the Knavesmire, and at York Maze on November 5.

Tickets start at £7.50, to include free transport.

Tickets must be bought in advance at kaboomyork.
