Councillors welcome easy access buses

NORTH Road councillors are celebrating Arriva’s decision to introduce low floor buses on the X66 Darlington to Middlesbrough route from tomorrow.
Councillors Anne-Marie Curry, Fred Lawton and Alan Macnab campaigned for 18-months for the easier access buses to be introduced on the route after hearing that residents found it difficult, and in some cases impossible, to get on and off the vehicles.
The councillors thanked Arriva for listening to and acting on residents’ concerns.
