Business awards seek entries

ENTRIES are being sought for the second Teesdale Business Awards, which will be held next month.

The awards will be presented at the Morritt Country House Hotel, at Greta Bridge, on Thursday, October 18.

Last year’s event was the first and attracted 400 entries from 50 companies in eight categories.

This year’s categories include best business in Teesdale trading for more than three years, sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, and best business trading for less than three years, supported by Enterprise House.

There will also be awards for best customer service, sponsored by Barney Guild and Teesdale Marketing, best community project, supported by North Pennine Dales Leader, and young entrepreneur, sponsored by TCR.

Other categories include innovation award, supported by Barnard Castle Vision, environmental achievement, championed by Durham County Council, and most impactful social enterprise, supported by 2D.

There will also be special awards for individuals or companies that deserve recognition for excellence of any sort, championed by Awards Online and Zine.

Companies can be nominated by visiting teesdale businessawards.co.uk before midnight on Sunday, September 30.

Charlotte Stow, Zine UK marketing director and organiser of the awards, said: “There are so many fantastic businesses here in Teesdale which, despite the continued challenges in economic climate, continue to grow and never cease to surprise us with their innovation, creativity and excellent levels of customer service.”
