A NORTH-East charity fundraiser is helping to front a cancer campaign.

Abby Christie, Cancer Research UK’s area volunteer manager for Durham, is taking part in the Stand Up To Cancer drive, which will bring together scientists, celebrities and cancer survivors.

The 27-year-old, from Durham, said: “We are calling on everyone in the region to follow our lead and Stand Up To Cancer.
“Most of us know people whose lives have been touched by the disease. This is an opportunity to join the fight and make a stand, to help more people survive.”

The campaign will be promoted on Channel 4 from Monday, October 15, culminating in a live TV fundraiser on Friday, October 19.
