Darlington police hunt driver who left accident scene

POLICE are hunting a motorist who failed to stop after an accident in Darlington.

The driver was travelling in a car which collided with a silver Renault Megane on the North Road and Thompson Street East junction around 9.30pm on Sunday, September 30.

The Megane’s owner was uninjured but the car suffered damage to its rear bumper and boot door.

However, the driver of the second car failed to stop to provide their insurance details and left before the Megane driver could note the car’s registration number.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Jason Ruck on 101.

Yes,and many more people i know too !. It now seems that it is NOT a traffic offence or any other offence to hit another vehicle and drive off the scene,a family member of mine was hit the same way and got the registration of the vehicle, and had witnesses,,But the police said there is nothing they can do !,,said go talk to your insurance company !. I know what ill be doing next time i tw*t someones car !.
