Ghost hunters needed for Shildon museum's Halloween dare

A SPOOKY haunting will welcome visitors to a railway museum as they seek out ghosts on a Halloween creepy walk.
Staff at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon claim that horses hooves have been heard at the site.
The sound is thought to be from the ghosts of horses which accompanied the opening of the Darlington and Stockton Railway through Shildon in 1825.
Museum staff have also reported strange sightings and experiences around the site’s historic buildings and exhibits.
Visitors to the museum on Wednesday, October 31 can take part in a Railway Ghost Walk to learn more about the stories.
The 90 minute ticket only event starts at 10pm and is open to those aged 16-years and over.
Tickets are £10 per person with details and booking via the museum on 01388 771439 or via email locomotion@nrm.org.uk.

Only strange sights around this place are the local village idiots who are trying to fleece hard up folk out of a tenner, trying to lure kids along on the pretext of ghost storys. Con merchants if ever there was. Who the hell is interested in dilapidated old railway stations and trains anyway ? Live for the future not the past. Oops, I forgot, Shildon is a dilapidated old town anyway, .........do they have hot water there yet ?
