CHARITY NIGHT: A fundraising event in aid of Spennymoor Area Family Events is to be held to help pay for trips away for families in the Spennymoor area. The event is at Bistro 53, Spennymoor, on November 25, from 5pm with tickets £20. The night includes a three course meal, bingo and a quiz. Details from Gemma or Michelle on 0744-3048-653.
CHARITY FUNDS: A charity night held by Coun Elizabeth Bruce, mayor of Chilton, and her consort Coun Alan Bruce, raised £683 for charity. The money will be split between St John's Ambulance and another yet to be decided charity.
COLLEGE COURSES: A series of courses are being offered including floristry, cooking and an introduction to childcare at Chilton Community College. The five-week courses are being run in conjunction with Bishop Auckland College. The courses vary in cost from £16.10 to £23, but those on benefits can access the courses for free. SQUASH MATCHES: Squash and badminton courts are being offered for use at Chilton Community College on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The cost of rental is £2 with details from the college on 01388-720911.
NETBALL SESSIONS: Chilton Community College staff are looking to hold netball training sessions at the college. The staff are currently trying to gauge interest in the proposal and anyone who would like to take part should call 01388-720911 or 01388-720255.
