Cattery raises cash for charities

A NEW cattery raised more than £300 in a charity open day.

Orchard Cottage Cattery, between Neasham and Middleton St George, welcomed visitors and potential customers in September to have a look around the new business and raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Cats Protection.

Owner Dorothy Bell said: “We made £310 and that will be split between both charities.

“It was such a great day and everyone had a fantastic time.

“We were selling tea and raffle tickets for a £1 each and we had so many people buy them, it was wonderful.”
