Youngsters scarecrows on show at primary school

YOUNGSTERS who made scarecrows for a harvest festival service have put them on show at their school.

The pupils at Kirk Merrington Primary School, near Spennymoor, were also joined by their parents, who made scarecrows which have been spread around the village.

Headteacher Helen Williams said: “The children really enjoyed making the scarecrows and the project has been a huge success.

“They were very enthusiastic and were thrilled to have a go.

“There’ll be a display of the children’s scarecrows at the school’s harvest festival service and the pupils will pick the best ones.”

The harvest festival service is at the school this Friday, October 19.
