Pact meeting for Polish residents hailed a success

A COMMUNITY meeting organised for Darlington’s Polish residents has been hailed a success.
The Polish partners and communities together (Pact) meeting was held in Gladstone Street to give people the chance to discuss issues in their local areas, with nine residents attending with representatives from the police and the council.
All nine residents joined the Neighbourhood Watch scheme at the meeting and were given updates on a number of police investigations affecting the Polish community.
Another Polish Pact meeting will be held on November 15, in Gladstone Street.
An extraordinary Polish Pact meeting will be held at St Augustine's Church, on Sunday, October 28, at 2pm.
Organisers hope to run a monthly meeting in different locations around the town, outside of Polish shops, and factories that employ Polish workers.
Anyone who would like to take part is asked to contact Sgt Daryl Edmunds, at North Road Neighbourhood Policing Team.
