Mayor to kick-start Poppy appeal

THE Darlington branch of the Royal British Legion will be launching its annual Poppy Appeal next week, to mark the start of the Remembrance period.
Darlington mayor Paul Baldwin will be among the first people in the town to buy a poppy, when British Legion representatives call at the Town Hall on Tuesday (October 25).
Also present will be representatives of other former forces associations.
