PUPILS from four secondary schools will spend Valentine’s Day discussing respect and relationships.
Around 30 pupils from each school will attend the Respect 2 event organised by Chester-le-Street Area Action Partnership.
Workshops will cover issues such as violence in relationships, alcohol, risk-taking behaviour and social networking with pupils from Hermitage Academy, Fyndoune Community College, Roseberry Sports and Community College and Park View School taking part.
Chief Superintendent Ivan Wood, from Durham Constabulary, will speak at the event.
He said: "The aim of this day is to demonstrate that respect is a two-way process, you have to give it to earn it.
"Negative relationships can have an impact of the decisions we make and how we engage with others, possibly leading to anti-social and criminal behaviour.
"The Respect 2 event aims to promote healthy relationships, which we believe are the foundations for a positive future."
