Corps celebrates anniversary

FORMER Chester-le-Street Salvation Army officers are returning to join in anniversary celebrations.

The Corps, based in Low Chare, is marking 132 years in the town  on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17.

The special guests for this weekend will be Major Joy Paxton and  Major Linda Levis, who  recently retired after serving in Tanzania.

They pair were in charge of the Chester-le-Street Corps for a number of years and are hoping to meet many of the friends they made during their time here.

On Saturday, March 16 at 6.30pm there will be a social and fellowship evening and on the Sunday services will be held at 10am and  6pm. Everyone is welcome.
