Parish gears up for Easter egg hunt

Waldridge Parish Council will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday March 31 from 2 to 4pm on the Millennium Green, off Barford Drive, Chester-le- Street. There will be competitions for the best decorated eggs and Easter egg bonnet in various age groups, an egg and spoon race, a treasure hunt and face painter. Refreshments will be available.
Pub gig: Rock band Overdrive will play the Barley Mow, South Burns, Chester-le-Street, on Thursday (March 21) at 9pm. Entry is free.
Vets plan: Gillian Maxwell, of the Cestria Veterinary Centre, is seeking planning permission from Durham County Council, to change offices into a vets surgery and dog obedience training centre at Unit 1, Turn Park, Station Road, Chester-le-Street.
