Public meeting on health shake-up

PEOPLE in North Durham have the chance to find put what NHS reforms will mean for them.
The area’s Labour MP, Kevan Jones, will host a public meeting to discuss the changes on Wednesday April 3 at St Mary’s and St Cuthbert’s Parish Centre in Church Chare, Chester-le-Street.
The meeting will begin at 6pm and Mr Jones will be joined by Tony Waites and Sue Jacques, the Chairman and Chief Executive respectively of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Jones said: “I am pleased to have the opportunity to hold this meeting so my constituents can find out more about changes to the NHS in our area.
“As the Chair and Chief Executive of the local NHS Trust, Tony and Sue will be at the forefront of the changes in County Durham, and I am very grateful that they have agreed to join me at this meeting.
“I would encourage any of my constituents who have any concerns or queries about the impact of NHS reforms to come along to the meeting.”
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital, community and health and well-being services for around 600,000 people.
The trust’ s acute hospital services include the University Hospital of North Durham and community services at Chester-le-Street Hospital.
