Plea for more to give blood at Ouston donor session
MORE blood donors are needed for a session being held tomorrow (Friday, October 18) at Ouston.
It will take place Community Centre, Iris Crescent, Ouston, Chester- le- Street, DH2 1RJ, between 2 and 4pm and from 4.45 to 7.30 pm.
There is space for more donors and people are being encouraged to turn up. Donna Batty, Lead Donor Relations Manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “We welcome new and existing donors to give blood and we will do our best to ensure that everyone that wants to donate is seen as quickly as possible."
First time donors should be aged between 17 and 65, weighing at least 50 kg (7 stone 12lbs) and in general good health. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years. For more information or to book an appointment visit www.blood.co.uk or call 0300 123 23 23.
